About SlopeGuide

Expert ski season timing and resort guides, built on verified data

Our Mission

SlopeGuide exists to answer one question better than anyone else: when and where should you ski? We publish data-driven resort guides that cover season timing, snow conditions, terrain difficulty, lift pass costs, and travel logistics for every major ski destination on the planet.

Whether you are planning your first trip to the mountains or choosing between a February powder week in Japan and a March spring-skiing session in Colorado, our guides give you the numbers and context you need to make a confident decision.

What We Cover

Resort Profiles

Detailed guides for 86+ ski resorts across 26 countries, covering elevation, terrain breakdown, lift infrastructure, and accessibility.

Snow Conditions

Historical snowfall averages, snowmaking coverage percentages, and seasonal snow quality data sourced from resort records and meteorological databases.

Season Dates

Opening and closing dates based on historical patterns, with monthly breakdowns of peak, shoulder, and early/late season periods for every resort.

Weather Data

Monthly temperature ranges, precipitation patterns, and climate context for each resort location, sourced from Open-Meteo and historical weather archives.

Lift Pass Pricing

Current-season day pass and season pass pricing, plus multi-resort pass inclusion (Epic, Ikon, Mountain Collective) for direct cost comparisons.

Travel Logistics

Nearest airports, drive times, coordinates, and regional context to help you plan the full trip, not just the skiing.

How We Source Our Data

Accuracy matters when you are booking flights and lodging months in advance. Our resort data is compiled from the following sources:

  • Official resort websites for season dates, lift pass pricing, trail counts, and terrain data
  • Open-Meteo (free, open-source weather API) for historical temperature and precipitation averages
  • National ski associations and tourism boards for regional snow data and resort certifications
  • Wikimedia Commons for Creative-Commons-licensed resort and mountain imagery
  • Multi-resort pass operators (Vail Resorts, Alterra Mountain Company) for pass inclusion and pricing

We update resort profiles before each season and flag any data points that have changed. If you spot an error, please let us know.
